2525: Miranda Practice

Description

A small update.

In Blender, I made major changes to the base Irene/Miranda model which includes a re-proportioned body -- a little less anime and slightly more human, but still trying to keep a mix of the two. I also wanted her to be a bit more petite for story purposes, and in Blender units, she's about 5'4" instead of like 5'10". I also changed her face a bit, one thing that didn't work for me is the sharp and pointy chin, which I kept for the longest time as I wanted an anime profile applied to her face, but for the style I am trying to develop, it just didn't work. Her chin now is a bit more rounded off, bit still keeping some sharpness to it. I also scaled her face in (Y-axis) so it doesn't stick out as much, and scaled it down a bit (Z-axis) to make her profile a bit cuter. The differences are seen as compared this image: shadow-corp.deviantart.com/art….

The other Blender stuff I got to play around with is the Shrinkwrap Modifier, but this time with actual weight painting on it. Nothing new to me, but I finally modeled some sporty underwear for her that isn't just a texture, and got some good results with the modifier.

This purpose of this was to practice detailing in Photoshop with a tablet, since I haven't had a chance to use the tablet since the last image I posted. I rendered four frames and then worked with them in Photoshop to see if I can keep the details consistent with each frame. It was pretty good practice. Once I develop a style, and able to keep it consistent, I'm going to begin working on a few pages of a graphic novel demo.

She looks great!
By the way, do you use material nodes for her skin tone?
